The dress Carolina wore for the day of her wedding was the dress she had always dreamed of wearing. A haute couture design with a crepe base which we gave a magical touch by adding a precious layer of pleated chiffon draped over it. The combination of both fabrics was exquisite.
We spoke with her so she could tell us in the first person how she felt in the dress that was made-to-order just for her and how she felt all dressed in white.
We would like to take this opportunity once again to thank her for her complete confidence in the Tot-Hom team. We thoroughly  enjoyed making her wedding dress dreams a reality!
What did you like most about your dress? The pleated fabric that was draped over the dress, most definitely! I wanted a simple silhouette so that I could play more with a special fabric, and I had always had in mind a pleated fabric. We found it when I was convinced that there wasn´t enough time to order the fabric I wanted (two weeks before my dress was to be delivered). They found the fabric “abandoned” in their studio, according to Andrea it had been sitting there for 10 years, lol.
Do you have a special memory from the moments leading up to the ceremony? When both of my brothers-in-law came to bring me my bouquet and to read me their speeches. As my fiancé is French it´s not tradition there for the best man to deliver the bouquet, so they made the tradition their way and it was very special.
What was the best advice you received about choosing your wedding dress? That less is always more!
What advice would you give to future brides for picking out their dresses? That, most importantly, you should pick a fashion house with good patterns and beautiful fabrics. I had a big scare before I decided to make my dress with Tot-Hom. I was going to make my dress in another place where everything ended up being a fiasco, I had to change designers one month before the wedding. When I came to Tot-Hom (where my mother made her wedding dress and my older sister as well) I suddenly realized what is really important when you make a dress. Excellent fabrics and pattern makers that can really create what you have in your mind, with well-cut, quality materials.
Did your husband comment on the dress? He loved it!
In three words how did you feel in your dress that day? Happy, elegant and very me!
